“Streams in the desert”
When hours had pass with painful cross
I travelled on till I could go no further,
Then at last; in all the pain of sad losses,
I rest serene beneath the tranquil power.God gave me quietness and assurance
To drink from the stream in the desert
And wash my feet press sore in peace,
That they in grief may walk in the spirit.

Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. I am in love with this place and crave to go to this place, again and again. This painting always reminds me of the abundance of natural beauty.

An Escape

This boat that is my land amid the water, is as bright as the last berry of summer. I feel the wind, gusting with the tempo of a fiddle, dancing with long and short bows, punctuated by soulful silence. I watch the billowed sail, rippling the same as the water around, always ready to propel us onward. Under this rising sun I have watched the mast shadow grow and fade, yet it is a pale form of darkness and nothing at all to compare to the brilliance of stars in the night. “There may be shadows in the sunlight, my love, but there will always be stars at night.”

Everyone has a place where they go to escape all the pressures and worries of life. There is always that one spot that can mellow all your problems and soothe troubles in times of stress. For me‚ the beach is the ultimate cure to all of my problems. While I am there‚ all of my obligations suddenly vanish. As I stroll along‚ I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. As I take in the soothing atmosphere that encircles me‚ I close my eyes‚ letting myself absorb the warming rays of the sun.

Looking at this painting the wind seems to whip through my hair, knotting it beyond belief, as sprays of water splashes me in the face. Sunshine beat down on all of us, helping to warm us all. Laughter drifts about on the boat as we all enjoy ourselves.
I can gaze at it for hours with my coffee and unwind the troubles of the day.

Gliding Across the Valley

The inspiration behind this painting is a visit to the Rocky Mountains. The hills are decadent with green and blue foliage as if wearing a rich royal garment with new buds springing and a sparky of wild roses and daisies.
Oh! How I love to be there again and again.
