My inspiration for this painting canes from the following poetic lines from Gerry Lagister’s poem:
“Streams in the desert”
When hours had pass with painful cross
I travelled on till I could go no further,
Then at last; in all the pain of sad losses,
I rest serene beneath the tranquil power.God gave me quietness and assurance
To drink from the stream in the desert
And wash my feet press sore in peace,
That they in grief may walk in the spirit.

Everyone has a place where they go to escape all the pressures and worries of life. There is always that one spot that can mellow all your problems and soothe troubles in times of stress. For me‚ the beach is the ultimate cure to all of my problems. While I am there‚ all of my obligations suddenly vanish. As I stroll along‚ I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. As I take in the soothing atmosphere that encircles me‚ I close my eyes‚ letting myself absorb the warming rays of the sun.

Reflections on the Edge of a Snowy Woodland

The winter palette’s colors are vivid though subdued. A snowy winter landscape reveals a range of icy colors, from crystal-white hills and fields to creamy yellow sunlight on snow to the light blue-purple of shadows or the silvery blue-gray of tiny brooks. The tans, browns, and forest greens stand out against a white backdrop. On the horizon, these colors make a winter blue sky all the more tingly and brilliant, or at other times serene.

On the Edge of a Forest

In this forest, I am with my tribe of wood and leaf, among the giants that hug the earth. It is a place of my refuge with the sweet smell of flowers and the soothing sound of water and songs of the birds, forever embedded in the air.
A hug of browns, a shelter of extended limbs resting beneath the foliage.
I am in love with this painting, especially in the scorching heat of the long summers.
Upon the forest floor, lies the leaves, fallen in storms long forgotten, but still beautiful. All of this natural composition is what makes this painting, a piece of art.
